This week we caught up with recently engaged Deep Creek Bride, Megan, to learn about her relationship with her fiance, Bryan, and their upcoming wedding. Here’s what she had to say.
When did you guys start dating and how long?
“Started dating August 16, 2014. So, just a little over 14 months.”
How did you two meet?
“We grew up in the same county, but didn’t really know each other. We had met by mutual friends. Bryan had lived in Virginia for four years, and he came home last year for the county fair and he asked me out on a date. The rest is history!”
When is the big day?
August 6, 2016
What is your favorite thing about your partner?
“We compliment each other well. I am a very anxious person, and he is the total opposite, he just has a way of naturally calming me. He is literally the half that makes me whole, my soul mate, and my best friend. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention his breath taking, baby blue eyes!”
What are you most excited about your wedding?
“I’m just excited for the day in general! I can’t wait to walk through the back doors of the church, escorted by my dad, and see him standing there, dressed in a tux and waiting for me at the altar. I’m looking forward to that moment, and of course the big celebration to follow, the reception!”
What are you excited about marriage in general?
“I’m just excited to start our lives together. We already live together, and we have a black lab named Coal. Even though we already have that, we want to commit ourselves to each other in front of God and our family and friends. And we are so excited to start a family!”
How do you fit planning a wedding into your already busy life?
“With a lot of help! I am currently a full time student, and school work consumes my days. I am really lucky to have my mom and my grandma, both have been very helpful in getting all of the big planning out of the way; the venue, DJ, caterer, photographer, florist. Most of the big stuff is out of the way, next step is the DRESS!”
What makes you and your fiances relationship unique?
“We dated for three and a half months, mostly long distance, before I moved in with Bryan; and he lived four hours away! We’ve been through a lot in the last year, renovating a home, getting a puppy, moving back to our hometown, selling a home, and we have yet to have any sort of major fight. We are very good at talking stuff out, and we agree on things easily. Life is good.”
What has been your biggest obstacle in planning your wedding so far?
“We haven’t faced too many obstacles thus far, but I think the biggest ones come closer to the wedding, so stayed tuned! I am sure there will be bumps in the road along the way.”
Tell us something unique about your wedding!
“A lot of people get married outside, or in barns. It seems to be the thing to do. I’ve always dreamed of getting married in a church, which is really traditional, but that’s what we are doing. I don’t know if it’s necessarily unique, but people don’t really have church weddings anymore.”
“I am so excited for the wedding day, and for the start of our lives as husband and wife! Come on August 6, 2016!”
